155 Years Ago, November 27, 1861:
NOVEMBER 27TH, 1861: The USS Vincennes, Lieutenant Samuel Marcy, boarded and seized blockade running British bark Empress, aground at the mouth of the Mississippi River, with large cargo of coffee.
